His response became instantly famous: "The report of my death was an exaggeration." Were he alive today, Twain would probably be amused to observe how, in this Internet age, celebrities and well-known figures are confronted by "news" of their own demise on a regular basis.

Read this story at NaijaAdvertiser.com

Not true, in my view. There are worse problems bedevilling that poor dear country than its leadership. We have religion, ethnicity, the British, etc, etc. But taking pride of place at the top of this scrapheap are the ordinary Nigerians – the followers.

Read this story at NaijaAdvertiser.com

The topic centred on the amnesty granted to the militants by the Fed Govt. I submitted that the so-called amnesty would fail if the Govt's intention was to play game. That money inducement won't solve the Niger-Delta problem. That the only thing that can get us started is by seriously addressing the root cause of the agitation in the region which of course is simple: INJUSTICES AND ABJECT UNDERDEVELOPMENT.

Read this story at NaijaAdvertiser.com

About four years or so ago, I saw a patient that had been flown-in from Nigeria. He was definitely a Nigerian ‘big man.’ He had suffered some kind of acquired brain injury. After initial assessment and intervention I began to leave. As I made my way out, I was stopped in the posh waiting area by a lady who introduced herself to me as the wife of my patient. She thanked me for my input and asked if I was Nigerian. I responded that indeed I was. A look of amazement came to her face. I was curious and wanted to know why she had that look but I wasn’t going to ask as I had to rush off to my next appointment.

Read this story at NaijaAdvertiser.com
